Read the Comics that Secretly Introduced the Villains from 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order'
Revealed at Star Wars Celebration, see how Marvel's 'Darth Vader' comics originated the purge troopers and the Second Sister!
This weekend at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, the galaxy got its first look at "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order", the highly anticipated video game coming this November!
Much was unveiled during the panel, from characters to story moments to the trailer. And among the announcements, Steve Blank of the Lucasfilm Story Group revealed that one of the lead villains from 'Fallen Order', the Jedi hunter called the Second Sister, was actually secretly introduced in a DARTH VADER comic last year!
Created by fan-favorite writer Charles Soule and perennial Star Wars artist Giuseppe Camuncoli, the Second Sister character first popped up during Vader's run-in with the Sith Inquisitors in issue #19 of the series. During the FORTRESS VADER arc, the Dark Lord made his way back to Mustafar to construct his isolated refuge, he encountered (and clashed with) the Emperor's disciples—among which was the unnervingly silent Second Sister...
Soule reacted to the video game news on Twitter as the panel went on...

Also divulged during the panel was information about the new purge troopers on their way in "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order". The imposing figures made their way on stage during the convention, but—like the Second Sister—they originated in Soule and Camuncoli's DARTH VADER!
First seen in issue #13, the elite stormtrooper unit encountered Darth Vader as he planned to quell an insurrection brewing in the notoriously insubordinate Mon Cala system. Joined by the purge troopers, the Inquisitors, and Grand Moff Tarkin, Vader flushed out a Jedi traitor, his Rebel followers, and the Mon Calamari sympathizers during the BURNING SEAS storyline.
Again, Soule couldn't hold back his excitement when the news came out...
