The Best Marvel Comics Moments of 2024
From the X-Men to Jeff the Land Shark, here are some of our favorite moments from Marvel Comics in 2024!
In 2024, Marvel Comics celebrated 85 years of storytelling. Events such as BLOOD HUNT cast looming shadows over the future of the Marvel Universe (see: ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM in 2025) and new launches across the X-Men and Ultimate Universe provided exciting jumping-on points for readers both old and new.
With the new year on the horizon, we asked folks around the Marvel office for some of their favorite comic moments of 2024. Here are some of the most memorable moments from Marvel Comics this past year.
AVENGERS TWILIGHT
"Thor's appearance at the end of AVENGERS TWILIGHT #3 is a moment that I’d had planned practically since we started planning the project some six or seven years earlier. So it was great to see it come to fruition so fantastically under the pen of artist Daniel Acuna."
- Tom Brevoort, Executive Editor & Conductor of X
X-MEN
"If it wasn’t clear before, the final page of X-MEN #3 by Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman proved without a doubt that my favorite character was in good hands. No one bears the weight of being an X-Man as much as Scott Summers, and following everything he went through during the fall of Krakoa, it was moving to see this rare show of emotion from him."
- Anthony Blackwood, Communications & Publicity Coordinator
STORM
"Storm is one of Marvel’s most iconic heroes and her new solo series by Murewa Ayodele and Lucas Werneck really captures her heart, her power, and her regality. As someone who loved magic girl transformation sequences and princesses growing up, the fashion in this book is truly everything. I mean just look at Eternal Storm!"

MARVEL 85TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL
"MARVEL 85TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1! The varied visions of characters across the Marvel Universe are always a blast, and seeing my pals Wolverine and Deadpool mixed up in a larger time-spanning plot was unexpected!"
- Mark Basso, Editor
STAR WARS: EWOKS
"I'd like to spotlight STAR WARS: EWOKS #1 because I think it’s a great intro to the Ewoks, and shows why they’re not to be underestimated! Cute? Sure. But don’t mess with Bright Tree Village or you’ll find out they’re not just cuddly teddy bears!"
- Mikey Basso, Assistant Editor
IT’S JEFF
"Joy. Chaos. Multiple costume changes. Semi-serious music copyright inquiries. Questioning the duality of light versus dark in unexpected ways. Really, in our marketing social book club meeting, we discussed this page for a good 15 minutes. Kelly Thompson on the story and Gurihiru helming the art. But all these details wane in the face of JEFF THE LAND SHARK! The entirety of VENOM WAR: IT’S JEFF one-shot gets my pick for comic moment of the year."
- Eun Jeong (pronounced like 'Euncanny X-Men’), Marketing Promotions Specialist
"Anything to do with Jeff the Land Shark! Whether he's hijacking Iron Man's armor (IT'S JEFF INFINITY COMIC), zipping around the cosmos (INFINITY PAWS), or tearing it up with a symbiote (VENOM WAR: IT'S JEFF), I just can't get enough of this little guy. He's adorable! He's mischievous! He's a shark with feet! What's not to love?"
- Meagan Damore, Senior Content Programming Specialist, Marvel Unlimited
ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN
"Spider-Man had many great moments this year, but one of my favorites in 2024 actually didn’t feature Peter Parker. In ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #10, Ben Parker and J. Jonah Jameson take center stage as their journalistic investigation uncovers the link between Oscorp and Wilson Fisk. This issue reminds us that heroes like Spider-Man resonate with readers because they are surrounded by iconic supporting characters."
