Marvel 80th: Celebrate Our Birthday With Us At Disney Parks This Week

As we continue to celebrate 80 years of Super Heroes, we welcome fans everywhere to celebrate our 80th birthday on August 31. We have celebration events happening all over, including at Disneyland Resorts such as Disney California Adventure Park!

For those still in the area following the D23 Expo or those local to the area, here's a list of several ways you can celebrate Super Heroes at DCA! Between specially-curated commemorative food and merch to entertainment and experiences, there's something for fans of all ages.

ATTRACTION

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! — We've got a mission for you because you're our favorite trash panda's only hope. Hop aboard the Collector's gantry lift on the attraction and help Rocket rescue his fellow Guardians all while jamming out to Star-Lord's classic mixtapes.

AP Bonus: Annual Passholders can enjoy an extra hour at Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! after park closing, now through August 31. Plus, take home a special lithograph! One per passholder while supplies last. Blockout dates apply.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Super heroics works up an intense appetite. Just like the Incredible Hulk, we're always down to share our meals. Here's a list of all the areas where you can feast on Super Hero-inspired noms.

• Hollywood Lounge: Be Brave, Be Blue cocktail, with Vodka* and Blue Raspberry Lemonade
• Hollywood Lounge: fresh-baked sourdough Groot-shaped bread
• Award Wieners: Super Hero-inspired, cinnamon-sugar dusted Funnel Cake Fries with Maple Glaze, Crumbled Bacon and Chocolate Cookie Crumbles

The Collector’s Warehouse: Showcase your Super Hero alliance and snag some commemorative tees and headwear, as well as other Super Hero-themed merchandise.

HEROIC ENCOUNTERS

Meet legendary Super Heroes like Captain Marvel, Black Panther, Captain America and Spider-Man in Hollywood Land throughout the day.

You also may run into Star-Lord and Gamora on their way to the Milano for the Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Dance Off! You’ll be grooving to the music during this awesome rock ‘n’ roll bash!

Mickey Mouse and pals are also getting into the action! Now through September 2, be on the lookout for some favorite Disney characters cosplaying as Super Heroes. Be sure to sport your Super Hero-best** for the day!

ASSEMBLE LIKE OUR HEROES

Face painting stations — Let us help you put your fearless "face" forward with a courageous makeover! Guests of all ages can select from a variety of different fierce designs, including the “Power Green” for the Hulk and “Spidey Red” which brings out the Spider-Man in you.

Then proceed to a number of epic oversized photo locations, available now through September 2, around the park. Strike an epic pose as you step into an "Avengers Assemble!" comic book and flex those smiles.

UNLEASH YOUR ARTISTIC ABILITIES

Animation Academy — Receive step-by-step instructions from a Disney artist on how to draw Super Heroes! Drawing classes will take place at Animation Academy during select times on August 30, 31 and September 1. To add to the fun, you can take home your sketch as a souvenir!

If you happen to be visiting Disney California Adventure park for the actual 80th anniversary on August 31, guests will be treated to a commemorative button upon entry into the theme park, while supplies last.
