The 'Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game' Developer Update #5 Presents a Giant-Sized Update
Check out experimental rules and homebrew suggestions for your table in the new Tony's Workshop series!
Hello, Marvelites! 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year for the Marvel Multiverse Role-Playing Game, and what better way to kick things off than to thwip into the New Year with an astonishing DEVELOPER UPDATE!
First, we’d like to send a giant thank-you to everyone in the Marvel Multiverse RPG community for making 2023 such a special year. We hope 2024 brings you endless amounts of Ultimate Fantastic rolls, and if not, just spend a point of Karma. Now let’s jump into it!
Tony’s Workshop
We’re introducing a new section to Marvel.com/rpg called Tony’s Workshop. After receiving thousands of invaluable feedback responses during the playtest period, we wanted to find a way to keep that spirit of our game alive. Starting today, you can download experimental rules and wacky homebrew suggestions for your table that may even get added to future releases. We’re also updating the FAQ Submission to include responses for Tony’s Workshop. Something’s not balanced? Have a suggested tweak? Let us know.
To start off, we’ve included variant Rank advancement rules. The “Getting Schooled” section breaks down an alternative way to rank up your characters as if you were students at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters!
Head on over and submit any thoughts or comments for the “Getting Schooled” section by February 9th.
As an added bonus, we’ve also included a henchmen stat block example to help Narrators better manage character sheets and encounters during their adventures through the Multiverse.
FAQ
We’ve updated the FAQ page to include some new points of clarity that we hope you find useful.
We’re continuing to monitor the intake form, so if you’ve submitted a question that hasn’t been answered yet, do not worry!
Temple Entrance Map & Updated Character Sheets
For those of you running The Cataclysm of Kang, we’ve uploaded the Temple Entrance Map from Chapter 6 to the Maps button in the Downloadables section. The map has also been added to the Demiplane and Roll20 digital versions.
We’ve also made some tweaks to a few of the character sheets, which can be found in the updated Errata. Feel free to play with the sheets as written in the book or adjust them using the suggested changes.
Starting Your Adventure
Many new Heroes (and Villains) have joined the Multiverse over the holidays, and we know that some Narrators are wondering: Where should I start?
Here are four spectacular places for you to get your campaigns going:
- The Cataclysm of Kang: What better way to start your campaign than with a full book designed to take your brand-new heroes from Rank 1 all the way to Rank 6?
- The Murderworld that Time Forgot: An introductory adventure for characters Ranks 1–3, survive Murderworld with your team and foil Arcade’s fun!
- Revenge of the Super-Skrull: Who’s a friend, and who’s a foe? Prevent another Skrull invasion in this adventure designed for Ranks 2–3.
- Enter Hydra: Jump right into the action in this prelude to The Cataclysm of Kang with a group of Rank 3–4 characters.
Use any and all of these adventures to start Making Your Multiverse!
That’s all for Developer Update #5. Keep a lookout for our next iteration, and until then, keep saving the day!
