'WandaVision': Make Darcy's All-Nighter Noodle Cup
A perfect snack for anytime of day!
Grab the TV tray — we’re making snacks for Marvel Studios’ WandaVision! Whether you’re looking for a full meal or something to munch on, we’ve got just the recipe you can whip up in a snap...because doesn’t everyone have the fixins for a four-course meal just lying around? We’ve partnered with chef Justin Warner to bring you a themed food paired with each episode of WandaVision, so dive into what we’re cooking today in the recipe below! WandaVision is now streaming on Disney+.
Who’s the biggest 'WandaVision' fan? Doctor Darcy Lewis, of course! The astrophysicist shows up at the S.W.O.R.D. base in Episode 4 of Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, “We Interrupt This Program,” ready to help and immediately starts snacking on everything the S.W.O.R.D. base has to offer. Clearly the doc is pulling some all-nighters binging episodes of WandaVision (and same — been there, done that) and reaches for a perfect, quick go-to snack: noodles in a cup.
But generally, those noodles have a broth or soup with them. What was this soupless noodle cup that Darcy had? Who drinks the soup first and then eats the noodles? Is Darcy having dinner? Or is it so late it's breakfast?
Whatever time she’s eating the noodles, they look delicious. By bringing aspects of carbonara to the classic cup of instant noodles, this dish is perfect for dinner or breakfast, or any time you want something to drop dramatically.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 package cupped instant noodles
- 2 strips of bacon
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
DIRECTIONS
STEP ONE: In a skillet set over medium-low heat, cook the bacon until crisp, about 10 minutes.
STEP TWO: Meanwhile, open up the cupped noodles and shake all the bits on to a plate and set aside. Gently pry the noodles out of the cup.
STEP THREE: Whisk together the egg and parmesan.
STEP FOUR: Place the noodles in a pot and eyeball where they fit. We want just enough water to cover them. Remove the noodles and fill with water to this point. Over medium high heat, bring the water to a boil. Once boiling, add the noodles and cook until your desired firmness, for me, that's about three minutes.
STEP FIVE: Strain the noodles and reserve 2 ounces of the cooking liquid.
STEP SIX: Once the bacon is crisped to your liking, transfer the strips to a paper towel to drain. Add the noodles to the pan the bacon was cooking in, then add the 2oz of reserved noodle liquid. Stir until most of the liquid has been absorbed. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in, bit by bit, the egg and parmesan mixture. The heat still in the noodles will cook the egg mixture making for a creamy and luxurious sauce. Transfer the noddles back in to the cup and garnish with the bacon, or chop it up and integrate.
STEP SEVEN: Drop dramatically.
Marvel Studios' WandaVision is now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
Starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, WandaVision marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and joining Olsen and Bettany are Kat Dennings, who reprises her role as Darcy Lewis from Marvel Studios' Thor and Thor: The Dark World; Randall Park, who reprises his role as Agent Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and The Wasp; and newcomers Kathryn Hahn, who plays their plucky neighbor, and Teyonah Parris, who plays the adult Monica Rambeau, who was first introduced in Captain Marvel.
