Take The Thing to Fantastic Levels in Marvel Contest of Champions with Marvel Let's Play
This sturdy hero is unstoppable!
Ben Grimm AKA The Thing served as the pilot on the starship expedition led by Reed Richards. During the voyage, the ship encountered unprecedented levels of radiation, granting the crew extraordinary powers. Ben gained incredible physical strength, and his body was covered in a flexible, rock-like hide. After returning to earth, the team banded together to form the Fantastic Four.
The Thing has made his way into the Battlerealm in Marvel Contest of Champions, and he's none to pleased about it. Never get in the way of a man and the best meatball sandwich ever (with extra sauce) in the Lower East Side. Here we go again!
Marvel Let's Play host Josh Saleh got you up to speed on how to dodge with The Thing, and now he's back in a brand new video above to help you unlock this sturdy defender's Rock Stacks ability and how to use the rock stacks to master his special attacks.
The Thing generates Rock Stacks as his primary ability—learning how they're generated and utilizing them to their fullest potential is KEY to both fighting as Thing, as well as fighting against him. The Thing generates Rock Stacks when blocking a hit and generating a well-timed block. He however loses Rock Stacks when he would receive a Bleed. Rock Stacks last indefinitely, up to 15 Stacks, and are capped at 20. When a Rock Stack is removed or the duration expires, The Thing gains a permanent Passive Fury.
In the video above, Josh walks you through how the Rock Stacks are used to generate Thing's three special power moves—Fists of Stone, where Thing rips up the ground and then pummels his Opponent with a pair of boulder boxing gloves; Rush Down, where Thing charges forward and then jumps high in the air to cannonball his Opponent; and lastly, It's Clobberin' Time, where Thing crushes the Opponent with a boulder and then rolls them into a rock burrito flinging them into the wall.
Head on over to the App Store or Google Play Store and download Marvel Contest of Champions for free, and get to clobberin'!
