The D.I.C.E. Awards Nominates 'Marvel's Spider-Man 2' in Nine Categories Including Game of the Year

The 27th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards is set to take place on February 15, 2024, and the finalists have been revealed! A total of 56 games released in 2023 are nominated, and topping the list with an impressive 9 nominations, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 takes the lead! In addition to being a finalist in the prestigious Game of the Year category, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 racked up nominations across various areas, including Art Direction, Character, Original Music Composition and recognition for Outstanding Technical Achievement.

Marvel Games VP and Creative Director Bill Rosemann highlighted the importance of collaboration between the teams at Marvel Games, Insomniac Games, and Sony Interactive Entertainment. "Here's three groups: Insomniac, PlayStation, Marvel. When you have that collaborative spirit and we're all trying to help each other and let each other do what they do best, but then always collaborate to deliver what we hope the fans will love. Then it showed! Once you have that love and understanding of the character and the aligned goals, you feel it. It's on the screen."

Praising all the teams who contributed to the game, Rosemann said, "Part of the theme of the game—I mean, even in the name Spider-Man 2, there's two Spider-Men, and in our tagline, "Be Greater Together." With the symbiote and Venom, there's a dark side of that: we are Venom, together. Those are some of the challenges and temptations that our characters must face. But ultimately, you look at the box art, when the Spider-Men are together, they are greater."
