Marvel Contest of Champions Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary

Five years have passed. In that time there have been universe shaping events, epic victories, and dark discoveries. But someone was always watching...
The Battlerealm may have been around for Eons, but Marvel Contest of Champions is turning 5 this week, and Kabam and Marvel Games released a cinematic trailer, above, in celebration of the hit mobile game's fifth anniversary!
In Marvel Contest of Champions, the greatest battles in Marvel history are in your hands. The greedy Elder of the Universe known as The Collector has summoned you to a brawl of epic proportions against a line-up of vile villains.
In the trailer above, the Watcher addresses the Summoner (players everywhere) revealing he's been watching you as you've led the powerful and legendary. The Summoner is offered another path as "it's time to leave the sidelines and become the Champion you were always meant to be." You shall soon be asked to become something more, will you be ready?
The different paths involve alternate versions of classic Marvel heroes from Marvel Realm of Champions, the new real-time action role-playing Super Hero game from Kabam and Marvel Games.
In Marvel Realm of Champions, Summoners will be transported to Battleworld, a forbidden planet behind the Space-Time Barrier, where its uneasy peace is disrupted by the death of Maestro, the God-King. This leads to shattered relationships between the Super Hero houses here, including House of Iron (Iron Man), Spider-Guild (Spider-Man), Patriot Garrison (Captain America), Pyramid X (X-Men). By aligning with one of the houses, Champions will work together (or all-alone) to gather resources for their factions across the war-torn Battleworld in an effort to sway control one way or another.
The Watcher reminds the Summoner the choice is theirs: keep hacking at the branches of evil, or find how deep its roots go. Once the Summoner makes their choice, Mephisto appears from the shadows and states, "Go on, you bald-headed fool, send your little rafts out to sea. It doesn't matter, they cannot escape the tidal wave before looking out at a giant Devour of Worlds.
