Look Inside the Pages of The Folio Society's 'Marvel: The Golden Age 1939-1949'
The book includes original printings from the Marvel archives!
You can now own a piece of comic history with Marvel: Golden Age 1939-1949 from The Folio Society.
The 272-page book takes a deep dive into the early years of Marvel, with an introduction from Marvel legend Roy Thomas and includes SUB-MARINER #1, HUMAN TORCH #5, CAPTAIN AMERICA COMICS #10, and ALL WINNERS COMICS #19. Additionally, the collection includes a facsimile of the very rare October 1939 printing of MARVEL COMICS #1 printed at actual size.
The selected comics included in the book originate from the actual first printings and come straight from the Marvel archives, rather than digital files. While you might have seen these pages before, you've never seen them quite like this, let alone hold them in your hands (and of course display them proudly in your home). The gold box presentation is decorated with artwork by modern Marvel colorist Marco D’Alfonso — and this edition also includes a digitally signed print from him! — with typography done by modern Marvel letting artist Ian Jepson.
The Folio Society, who produces beautiful collectors editions of the world’s best books, was delighted to collaborate with Marvel on this amazing project, which can only be purchased through their website here. But, if you happen to be at MCM London Comic Con, taking place October 25-27, 2019, you’ll be able to buy the book directly from The Folio Society at stand N200. And be sure to check out their entire holiday collection!
