'Avengers: Endgame' Featurette Has Stars Discussing How The Avengers Lost

We're in the endgame now.

"We lost and we're not used to losing," stated Chris Evans ("Steve Rogers" / "Captain America") in a brand new featurette for Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Endgame," in theaters in one month.

As we near the epic culmination of the last decade of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Evans, Robert Downey Jr. ("Tony Stark" / "Iron Man"), Scarlett Johansson ("Natasha Romanoff" / "Black Widow"), Chris Hemsworth ("Thor") and producer/architect of the MCU Kevin Feige reflect on what it means for our heroes, the Avengers, who've lost for the first time when Thanos succeeded in his plan and wiped half of the population of the universe gone.

Reaffirming the hard road ahead, Evans said, "Everyone's doing their best to keep their head above water, but it's kind of a losing battle."

"People are kind of still coming to grips with it," stated Hemsworth, while Johansson confirmed her character has come out of Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Infinity War" was as "a little bit hardened from what she's had to go through."

Despite being leveled literally, morally, and emotionally, Evans acknowledged some hope, "The good thing is it's always easier to build people back up after they've been broken down. Man, that's what Marvel is great at doing. It's that shred of hope everyone's looking for."

"The fans reaction to the end of 'Infinity War' when half their favorite characters turn to dust really was indicative of how emotionally connected the world has gotten to these characters," said Feige on the journey of this last decade.

The featurette ends with a line from Tony Stark, "I know I said no more surprises, but I was really hoping to pull off one last one."
