Exclusive Clip: Lupita Nyong'o On the Ambitious and Aspirational 'Black Panther' Film
The star talks 'Black Panther' on 'Inside The Actors Studio'!
The captivating and talented Lupita Nyong'o looks back at her time working on the critically acclaimed award-winning Marvel Studios' Black Panther film as well as reflect on the film's cultural impact.
We have an exclusive clip of the Inside the Actors Studio interview with Orange Is the New Black's Uzo Aduba above.
Speaking to Aduba, Nyong'o shares her initial thoughts on the film, "What struck me was that it was not shying away from the social political issues that it ends up dealing with, and I remember just thinking, 'Are you sure this is a Marvel film?' because this sounds way more radical than spandex."
Nyong'o later touts the rare combination the film possesses, "We ended up making this film, and it's an extremely ambitious film, but it doesn't compromise the aspiration quality, the imagination; it embraces it. This was a case where a popular film was doing a social solid as well, which it comes by very rarely where something is so socially, politically relevant and popular."
