For a look at where we were before episode 4, we deputized Marvel.com writer (and first-time listener) Amanda Ames to keep up with the action as it's released. So here's a look at what went down in chapter 3...
Stories unfold, secrets emerge and, in the town of Burns, everything connects—but this case is anything but elementary, my True Believers.
With a new lead in-hand, Agent Marshall pays a visit to the prying sheriff Ridge, but there is no changing the mind of a crime-hardened sheriff, or maybe no changing the mind of a guilty one… Hot on the trail, our agents retrace the steps of the two original victims, but each turn reveals a new path to follow. You know our methods—order and reason—it’s time to line up the facts and eliminate the impossible.
- We now know that the first two victims have connections to the Aurora. Jessica openly supported the cult and even acted as an executioner of sorts, while Sandy’s involvement is not as clear. However, her “Goodnight, nobody” tattoo can only mean one thing...she’s in league with Nicholas Prophet. You know the rules; there are no coincidences in this deadly game.
- Bobby looks more suspicious by the second. He lied to Sheriff Ridge in his retelling of events, he consistently tries to steer the agents away from the two mauling victims and we now know that the sheriff helped him keep something under wraps. Could this be the same reason he moved to Burns? Could he be the boy Jessica was smitten with? As we know, the "why" is never obvious, but it is obvious that he knows more than he’s letting on...
- It looks like Prophet’s breed of crazy requires routine sacrifice has the blood of animals satiated his needs or has he begun seeking bigger game? Perhaps this pushed Logan to pay a visit to the cave commune. Or perhaps it had something to do with the Langrocks, who Prophet revealed to be the puppet masters behind the whole town. Next up, it’s time to pay a visit to the house on the hill.
The Long Night is coming, and residents of Burns are running wild. But who among them plays the hunter...and who the hunted?
Take a look at the suspect list in the aftermath of chapter 3 with our Agent's Dossier...
