'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' | The Bromance of Mack and Fitz
That hug! Also, don't miss the two-hour Season 6 finale this Friday, August 2!
There is nothing more pure than the friendship/bromance between Alphonso 'Mack' Mackenzie and Leo Fitz from Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
In the special video above, Marvel.com had the opportunity to talk to Henry Simmons and Iain De Caestecker about the evolution of their characters' friendships over the course of the series.
According to De Caestecker, the friendship between Fitz and Mack is a "very special one." When the agents both met back in Season 2, Fitz was still dealing with the trauma (physically and emotionally) from Ward's betrayal and time away from Simmons. Mack was the only person who treated him normally without any kid's gloves on.
"From that point forward, there was a mutual respect and love that they have for one another," revealed Simmons.
While the pair may have disagreed, "when push comes to shove, deep down, they have a real loyalty to each other," said De Caestecker.
In the video above, the pair discuss about their beginnings to the devastating Season 5 finale that resulted in the death of Fitz to their reunion in Season 6 with another Fitz that involved the GREATEST HUG EVER!
