D’Spayre Challenges Tandy and Tyrone in Brand New 'Marvel's Cloak & Dagger' Episode

With misery, comes D’Spayre.

Tonight's episode is not one to be missed! Not only is "Vikingtown Sound" showrunner and executive producer Joe Pokaski's directorial debut, it's the series' grittiest episode to date as our heroes Tandy and Tyrone learn about Andre Deschaine AKA D'Spayre's true nature.

In last week's episode, it's revealed that Andre, the leader of the support group Tandy and her mother attends, has a power of his own, and misuses his role as a community leader to kidnap vulnerable women off the streets in New Orleans. To ease his migraines, D'Spayre feeds on the despairs of these taken women. In the clip above, watch as Tandy confront Andre and his mind games. Unfortunately for Tandy, under his grips, she has no control over her light daggers.

In the Loa Dimension, at the record store we saw a few episodes earlier in the season, Andre catalogues the hopes and dreams of his captive women in records. Playing them out, Andre eventually strips them of every ounce of hope they possess.

Meanwhile, as Tyrone continues his search for Tandy, he comes into contact with Andre, who challenges the nature of their friendship and connection. Will Ty fall under D'Spayre's tricks?

Speaking to Marvel.com, Aubrey Joseph, who plays Tyrone, speaks on his role as the source of Tandy's hopes, which D'Spayre discovered and exploited. "Ever since Season One, Tandy has been like a big sister to Ty," revealed Joseph. "She's so self-sufficient, confident, and feisty. We had that scene where she's like, 'You're Tyrone freakin' Johnson. You know who you are. Stop being down on yourself all the time.' Tandy is one of Ty's biggest motivators, and it's cool that this season, they kind of reverse the roles."

Elsewhere, Adina, who currently has Connors captive, is pushed to a dangerous edge as she looks to get answers and closures for her two boys she's lost.
