Replacing the Stygian Neutron in the ranks of the Imperial Guard, Cosmo was first seen among their ranks when the Guard were dispatched to Earth by their Empress Lilandra, under the mental control of Charles Xavier's mutant twin sister Cassandra Nova, with orders to destroy all of Earth's mutants.
