Biography

Biography

Known as the merc with half a mouth, Headpool is a devious yet loveable zombie Deadpool head from Earth-2149.

Head Trip

When Earth-2149 falls victim to a virus that transforms many superhumans, including Deadpool, into flesh-eating zombie-like creatures, they at least retain their intelligence. Though most zombies are destroyed, a few remain and, seeking new worlds to feed upon, locate Earth-616 and send Deadpool there through the Nexus of Realities. He sets a trap to lure local super-team the Command, but his body is destroyed when knocked into a swamp boat’s roaring fan.

His head survives and is taken to the Hollow, ARMOR’s headquarters, where he convinces Simon Garth, AKA Zombie, to help him escape. No longer feeling the hunger due to losing his body, Deadpool accompanies Garth to Samuel Barone, AKA Black Talon’s Taino island base en route zombifying a female Piranha and various Men-Fish. As Dr. Michael Morbius, AKA MorbiusMidnight Sons tracks Deadpool, Black Talon offers Deadpool as a weapon to Parker Robbins, AKA the Hood. Meanwhile, Deadpool infects a new zombie horde, and Morbius’ efforts to destroy the zombie virus instead transforms the zombies into an airborne, flesh-devouring swarm/cloud. Forming a new host body, Deadpool takes control of the zombie cloud, temporarily destroying Ted Sallis, AKA Man-Thing. Though sorceress Jennifer Kale obliterates Deadpool’s new body, Garth fakes Deadpool’s death and sends him away on a rowboat, while the remaining zombie virus-mind is trapped within Garth’s virtually mindless form.

Head First Into a Zombie Virus

With a body, Deadpool has all the powers of his Earth-616 counterpart, including a rapid healing factor and peak human speed, and agility. The zombie virus eliminates his healing factor, although he is still highly durable, though unable to regenerate as before.

As a head, Deadpool lacks any locomotion. While he no longer constantly feels the zombie hunger, he still does so out of habit and can transmit the virus via biting. It is uncertain how Deadpool can speak and perform other functions without his body, though it is presumed that this ability is linked to the virus he is infected with. He eventually wears a propeller hat that allows him more freedom of movement.

‘Pool Allies and Blockheads

Deadpool meets his Earth-616 counterpart Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, and sees an opportunity to have a new body, but his plot fails. He instead teams up with Deadpool-616 and they go on adventures across the Multiverse. During said adventuring, he joins Deadpool-616’s Deadpool Corps to save the Multiverse from the threat known as the Awareness. He offers the team colorful commentary and makes jokes about his status as a head. He shares a frenemieship with fellow Corps member Wanda Wilson, AKA Lady Deadpool from Earth-3010.

He later meets his match in an evil Deadpool from another reality who ends his existence.

In Over One’s Head

The rowboat eventually arrived in the Savage Land, where Deadpool became revered by a tribe of headhunters. Seeking the head as a weapon of mass destruction, Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.) sent agents, including Earth-616’s Deadpool and Doctor Betty Swanson, to retrieve it before Hydra could. Deadpool-2149 ordered his followers to behead Deadpool-616 so his head could be placed on the body, but when this plot failed, Deadpool-2149 teamed with his counterpart and Dr. Betty to escape Hydra as well as a zombified tyrannosaurus rex that Deadpool had infected. The trio fled in a stolen Hydra ship to an A.I.M. space station. Deadpool-2149’s head was turned over to A.I.M. agents, but Deadpool-616 reconsidered and liberated it. Both Deadpools and Dr. Betty then traveled to South Florida, where Deadpool-616 sought the Nexus of Realities to send his counterpart home, en route encountering Man-Thing, who somehow recognized Deadpool-2149 from the Taino incident. After disposing of Hydra agent Lord Falcon, the group located the Nexus, and the two Deadpools entered it. Due to the two dimensional counterparts entering the Nexus at the same time, the portal’s structure shifted and locked on to them as focal points, leading them to other worlds in which various Deadpools played important roles. The two Deadpools first arrived on Earth-6466, where they were briefly captured by S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Major Deadpool before escaping to Earth-3010, where they aided Lady Deadpool against that reality’s Captain America, who was attempting to capture the rebel. Another jump through the Nexus landed the two Deadpools on Earth-1108, where Deadpool shot and apparently killed the cowboy Deadpool Kid

Finally returning to Earth-616, they found that Sorcerer Supreme Jericho Drumm, AKA Doctor Voodoo, had stabilized the Nexus, which allowed the Deadpools to use it to reach Earth-2149. They were followed by Betty and Bill and swiftly attacked by superhuman zombies, until a small human survivor group found the quartet and led them to safety, Even though Voodoo’s stabilization of the Nexus had by then worn off, leaving them stranded, Deadpool-2149 realized that they may have arrived at an earlier time period and suggested they replicate his original journey to Earth-616. Under undisclosed circumstances, "Headpool" found himself trapped in yet another dimension after his companions returned to their own reality, from which Deadpool-616 rescued him before recruiting him into the Deadpool Corps. He was given a propeller hat, so that he could retain some mobility instead of being tossed about or attached to someone else’s hip.

With the backing of the Elders of the Universe, and a spaceship, Headpool joined the Corps on a galaxy-spanning suicide mission: Save the universe from the Awareness, a cosmic entity whose appetite was boundless, and whose evil had devoured entire galaxies. Headpool, alongside his companions in the Corps, first faced Tryco Slatterus, AKA Champion, an Elder of the Universe who thought them unworthy of saving the universe. The group humiliated him and left him on a desert planet, though later made him a member of the team, dubbing him Championpool. Headpool worked alongside him, but when it came to the team or Championpool, they left Champion behind again, who was happy to contribute his life to the cause of saving the universe.

When they made contact with the being, the Awareness trapped them all in each of their own minds, save Headpool due to his undetectable non-living brainwaves. Headpool found the Awareness and cut off their connection to his teammates using his teeth. Though the Awareness defended themselves, Lady Deadpool slayed the entity. With the Awareness slain, an Elder of the Universe appeared and gave them all a reward in the form of rings that would summon an Elder if in dire need.

On their journey home, Headpool and the Corps were hired by the Omega Confederation of Planets to quell a rebellion of the indigenous Krook on the resource-rich planet Kagan 7. Deadpool sparked a civil war instead, putting the whole team at risk with the Omega Confederation on their tail who sent their exterminators after them. The team prevailed though they were stuck with a broken spaceship. Deadpool used the rings to summon the Elders but they saw it as an abuse of power and sent them all to their home dimensions.

Back home, Headpool soon faced off with a Deadpool from another universe, who was also an agent of the Evil Deadpool Corps led by Dreadpool of Earth-12101. This agent Deadpool put Headpool in a microwave until he exploded, a state from which Headpool may not come back from.
