Luminor was a member of the Godpack, which was the High Evolutionary's attempt at creating god-like beings meant to serve him. The Evolutionary revealed to Thor that Luminor was fashioned after the Asgardian god of Light Balder the Brave. Luminor was never really sold on the idea of being a servant and it was noticed by the New Immortals, who offered him the chance to join them and rule as the god he was created to be.
