Morning Star led the Followers of the Left-Hand Path in an effort to capture Jack Russell. After his followers tracked down Russell via a homing device in his skull, both the Russell and Moon Knight were captured and brought to Morning Star's office at 666 5th Avenue. Morning Star intended to sacrifice Moon Knight and drink the blood of the transformed Werewolf. His plans were foiled when Moon Knight escaped and liberated Russell.
Morning Star sent his loyal aid Asmodeus to recapture the pair, but he too was defeated, allowing Moon Knight to infiltrate the cult's headquarters in disguise. The pair defeated the cult guards, and Werewolf threw Morning Star to his death from the roof of his building.
