Abner JonasOrganizer

The Reform Party candidate for mayor of New York City, Abner Jonas led a double life as masked crime boss the Organizer, head of the criminal Organization. His accomplices included Phillip Wallace Sterling a wealthy scientist that kept a very low-profile, Deborah Harris, a young misguided socialite who was infatuated with him; and four criminals whom Jonas outfitted with specially gimmicky animal costumes as Ape-Man (Gordon Keefer), Bird-Man (Henry Hawk), Cat-Man (Townshend Horgan) and Frog-Man (Francois LeBlanc). This quartet committed crimes at undermining the city government and staged attacks on the Reform Party to generate public sympathy for Reform. Daredevil interfered and a repentant Debbie Harris ultimately helped him expose their plans to take over the city government. Reform's leading candidates resigned, including District Attorney candidate Franklin "Foggy" Nelson, who helped expose Jonas as the Organizer, which eventually resulted with Jonas going to prison.
