After saving the universe from the threat of the Awareness, the Deadpool Corps was hired by the Omega Confederation of Planets to covertly squash the rebellion of the indigenous Krook, blue-skinned inhabitants of the resource-rich planet of Kagan 7. Deadpool quickly switched sides and initiated an intergalactic media frenzy making the warrior Krook the darlings of the solar system. These actions created a public relations nightmare for the Omega Confederation, and an uneasy rift between the traditional Krook King and his ambitious daughter, Princess Teela. Deadpool allied himself with Teela, seeking to capitalize on her greed. Deadpool began the modernization of Kagan 7, by calling in the smuggler/arms dealer known as the Broken Blade.
