There were very little known facts about the women called Shin. She was the Sensei of a mysterious Dojo that only Cable could enter. She had taken him as a pupil promising to teach him the secrets of Tendo "the way of Heaven." Shin possessed incredible martial skills. She also gave Cable lessons in Kendo "the way of the Sword." Shin was trying to get Cable to stop relying on his mental powers, which would give him an upper hand against those with similar powers of the mind. Shin was able to give Cable a cryptic warning about the coming of the powerful dark forces that gathered against him known as the Dark Sisterhood and their leader known as the Dark Mother. After their lesson Shin simply faded away and so did her Dojo.
