Whiplash and her husband Blacklash enjoy the pleasures of leather to the point that they decided to use this enjoyment to become leather clad assassins. The two have enjoyed various leather parties, some of which were also attended by Swordsman.
When the Commission on Superhuman Activities persuaded the Thunderbolts to track down super-villains and recruit them to join the pro-registration side of the Civil War|Superhuman Registration Act, Blacklash and his wife were convinced to join the Thunderbolts.
