I really hope they don't go for a reboot, but considering what they planned with Falcon...well, something like this was inevitable. Cap fights with his last breath to save a catastrophal situation from getting even worse. Iron Nail dies rather...unspectacularely, more or less accepting his fate in the exploding machine. Falcon lays the finishing punch and saves Cap, who seems to age rapidly. And yeah, I call foul on that. The Serum doesn't repress his real age, it more or less slows down the aging process. If it is removed or surpressed, all that would happen, is that he would age in real-time now. And to get from a 30/40es look to eighties, it needs half a century of lying on that stretcher.

I agree, that while this story has all the elements of a great ending...it feels underwhelming. The last ditch sacrifice doesn't seem so big, and while his "Must stand" is foreshadowed...well, it's more or less too well foreshadowed. From issue 1 Cap was almost basically down for the count, so this here seems...rather normal. Not that big a sacrifice. He was standing up all the time, this is nothing special.

And where is Jet during all this?

That was awesome! Great art by Nic Klein! I love that Marvel is letting brilliant writers like Remender destroy everything! Reboot is eminent and I'm loving the preceding craziness!

Underwhelming.  They should have just rolled out Red Ronin and the Mega Morphs to fight that giant mech.  Or Godzilla.

Really pathetic comic.  Not a fitting end to an icon.  That said you have been messing with him for years.  Isn't he supposed to be in the Army?  You know they have been at war for quite some time?  Was he AWOL?

Does this mean this series is over?
