The Agents of Atlas Are Getting Their Own Series This August

The all-Asian and Asian-American team that debuted during the War of the Realms is getting their own limited series!

They made their debut as a super team during Marvel's epic comic event, War of the Realms -- now the Agents of Atlas will get their own stand-alone limited series beginning this August! Featuring a lineup of all Asian and Asian-American team members, the Agents of Atlas will see familiar Marvel characters -- like Shang-Chi, Amadeus Cho (Brawn), Cindy Moon (Silk), and Agent Jimmy Woo -- join some newer faces -- Lei Ling (Aero), Lin Lie (Sword Master), and Pearl Pangan (Wave) -- to defend the cross-Asian city of Pan from the science-magic threat of a classic Marvel villain.

AGENTS OF ATLAS #1 will be written by Grek Pak and Jeff Parker with art by Nico Leon and Carlo Pagulayan. Here is the cover by Jung-Geun Yoon:

AGENTS OF ATLAS (2019) #1

While the appearances of classic and past Marvel characters like Shang-Chi, Jimmy Woo, and Amadeus Cho are exciting, it's even more exciting to see the newer names as part of the team roster. Wave, who was co-created by Filipino artist Leinil Yu, is the newest Filipino character in the Marvel Universe. When she made her debut in WAR OF THE REALMS: NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS, she was celebrated for the authenticity and design by Yu and became an instant icon for Filipino Marvel fans. She will continue to play a major role as an Agent of Atlas in the upcoming series.

The "origin stories" of Aero and Sword Master are also noteworthy -- both characters were featured in digital-only books that were made by Chinese creative teams for the Chinese audience through NetEase. Aero and Sword Master were first introduced in China in 2018 and made their American Marvel Marvel audience debut in WAR OF THE REALMS: NEW AGENTS OF ATLAS. Not only will they be a big part of AGENTS OF ATLAS, but their Chinese-language books will also be translated for solo books that will be released in July!

Two other Agents of Atlas originated in Marvel Games -- Luna Snow and Crescent and Io were Korean Super Heroes created for "Marvel Future Fight" who will now bring their skills to the new comic series.

AGENTS OF ATLAS #1, written by Grek Pak and Jeff Parker with art by Nico Leon and Carlo Pagulayan and a cover by Jung-Geun Yoon, goes on sale this August! Stay tuned to Marvel.com for more news and updates about AGENTS OF ATLAS and more upcoming comics!
